Program Assistant (part-time)

Board Member (volunteer)
Open Arms Community is seeking part time (a few hours a month) Board Members to serve on our Board of Directors.
Primary responsibilities include:

Advise the Director on programmatic changes
-
Advise the Director on budgetary matters
-
Serve on a committee (such as personnel or building)
-
Participate in United Methodist, ecumenical, interfaith, community-based, or other gatherings of colleagues and/or neighbors who are engaged in activities which match the mission and vision of Open Arms Community

Assist with Open Arms Community activities on occasion in some capacity so that the community gets to know you and you get to know the community.
Requirements for the position include:

Experience in a field related to nonprofit work, HR, church mission, racial diversity, or fundraising

Working knowledge of the United Methodist Church (or a willingness to learn)

Demonstrated ability to work with people from diverse ethnic, racial, cultural, and socioeconomic backgrounds

Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Participation in additional training as required periodically
